This
website is a work in progress.
Please
refer back occasionally as new information will be added
periodically.
The contents is
intended as a means of providing extended family members in
Britain, Scotland, Canada, U.S.A. & of course
Australia; with photos, ancestral and otherwise, that they
may not have seen.
You can see
an enlargement of the pictures by clicking on the smaller
version.
Please feel free to comment, or correct any errors I may
have made.
Unfortunately our forebears did not often write details or
dates on the back of their photos.
Identification often involves considerable detective work.
If you can identify any of the photos with missing names,
please let me know.
If you have
any ancestor photos not included here, please may I have a
copy so that I can include them.
I also have a computerised version of the Macfarlane/Scott
family tree with over 1200 names in it. Of course it needs
updating constantly with births and
deaths etc. (it is currently
a bit out of date), If you can provide any new information,
I would be most grateful. My computer is an Apple
Macintosh, but I can provide (and receive) family tree data
in gedcom format, which is platform independent. (Of course
you can just email me the details and/or pictures.)
I also have quite a few letters written by Macfarlane
family members in the U.K. and Canada - mostly between
Thomas Macfarlane and his sisters. I have included one from
Thomas Macfarlane to one of his sisters in 1882. Can you
work out which sister? If you find it difficult to read, I
can email you a transcribed version, but the original hand
writing still has a charm about it. The original itself is
now very delicate and I have it in a plastic sleeve.
I would hate these photos and letters of your own
relatives, mostly from the century before last, to not be
seen and enjoyed by those who may be interested.
Please let any other extended family members know about
this website.
